THE STORY
The Bento approaches serving as an act of presentation. Rich Black Walnut forms a dark architectural frame around a broad section of figured Honey Locust, whose golden colour and dramatic movement create a natural focal point along the centre of the piece.
Raised hardwood feet subtly lift the board from the table, introducing shadow and dimension while giving the food placed upon it a sense of occasion. Every proportion has been considered to create a platform rather than simply a surface.
The Bento was conceived for sushi, sashimi, small plates, desserts and other foods where presentation becomes part of the experience. It reflects the belief that craftsmanship can influence not only how an object is used, but how the moment surrounding it is perceived.
