THE STORY
The Current is named for the movement already present within the Black Walnut from which it was shaped. Grain lines sweep through the slab and gather around areas of figure, creating a visual flow that seems to travel from one end of the board to the other.
Its organic edges and sculpted handle follow that movement rather than interrupting it. At only ½" thick, The Current has an unusually light, refined profile, allowing it to move effortlessly between display, preparation and presentation.
The Current demonstrates how little intervention exceptional wood sometimes requires. It is a serving piece shaped in response to its material—a quiet composition intended to frame the food placed upon it while allowing the story of the walnut to remain visible beneath.
