THE HALO
Single-Slab Black Walnut · Serving Board

The Halo is defined by its sculpted circular handle—a simple detail that gives the serving board its unmistakable silhouette. Flowing Black Walnut heartwood and subtle natural-edge character allow the material to remain the focus.

THE STORY
The Halo takes its identity from a single sculptural gesture. A circular handle is carved directly from the Black Walnut slab, creating a distinctive silhouette while preserving the continuous relationship between handle and serving surface.
Across the board, heartwood, subtle sapwood and flowing grain remain largely uninterrupted. The slim ⅝" profile keeps the piece light in the hand, allowing the strength of its form to come from proportion rather than mass.
The Halo reflects the Rose Studio approach to serving pieces: functional objects should feel considered even when they are simple. Designed for bread, cheeses, charcuterie and shared bites, it brings a recognizable form to the table without asking the wood to become anything other than itself.
